The world was created to be a very beautiful scenery in the eyes of it's dwellers ,the grasses and trees and flowers arranged in a sweet pattern to let the rivers flow so that the waters could reflect the bright sunshine upon the mountains and valleys...The clouds and the rainbow, the birds and the fish and all animals show the amazing favors and mercies and grace and love God has bestowed upon human beings.
Psalms 121 is among the sweet and common psalms written by David,
He is a traveler in the deserts and maybe all he can see from afar is the mountains,
All he can rest his eyes on, being the highest and farthest position is the mountain,
Again what blocks him from seeing the other side of the way is the mountains, they have become borders and enclosures.
It was the only scenery upon his eyes,
The only thing in the landscape he can see,
He saw the mountains...
When David lifted up his eyes,
Among all good things God created,
The mountains is all he could see.
He says...."I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God , who made heaven, and earth, and mountains" Psalms 121:1,2
"Life is a journey"...this is a common phrase... And in this journey we are all like Moses... We are walking in crowds but with different visions... What we see may not be necessarily what others see and what surrounds us may be different too.
To some of us what seems to be the highest position is that job you are trying so hard to get, or that girl you need to propose to or may be that GPA you need to attain and for some of us it is just that meal you wish to taste (and this is so much like me)... Anyway...We see these things as being on the farthest end and we are looking up to them as if there is nothing else more precious than our mountains (food, marriage, GPA, jobs)... We say like David... I look up to the mountains... We look up to get that job, to get that food and to get that grade.
After looking up to the "mountains",
David pose a question... "Does my strength come from the mountains? "
Yes, that job pays so well and it is the job of your dreams... Yes, that GPA shines the brightest... Yes, you love that man so much...
But
Does your strength come from that job?.
does your strength come from that GPA ?or
Does your strength from that Man.... ?
Yes, it is the highest you can see but maybe not the source of your strength and maybe by just looking at that job ,that man and that grade; you won't get the strength to keep going when you are tired of the journey and so you need an un-replenishable source of strength to look up to. The strength to keep you going when it gets so hard.
The psalmist has his answer and you too can have yours. You need the constant flow of strength for the journey because sometimes it just gets so hard and what you saw from afar to be the highest position, may turn out to be nothing when you come close to it. You will realize that the journey is still on, the road is still long and we are not yet closer to the destination.
Maybe you think you can handle this journey on your own but it is nice to be assured that you have someone who got your back, someone you can rely on and someone you can trust when your stores are replenished.
May your strength come from God,
May you look up again and see that He is at that highest position,
May you rely on Him because he is the one who made those mountains too.
And you know what!.. He didn't just create the mountains, He also created the oceans, the valleys, the flowers, the rivers and most important of all...He also created you! So if you just look up to the mountains you will just see the mountains....
but
if you look up to God...you will see everything...you will see the beauty of all the other things he created....
May your strength today come from the Lord because....
It was, it is and it will always be...
God over everything 🤗🤗
God bless you!
