STAY CONNECTED

One of the fascinating observations that have made is the way an electrical appliance will work. For most to get the electricity, they ought to be connected to the source of power supply. This brought me to these insight.
As Christians we are to be connected with our Source. An infinite source where once connected we are priviledged to enjoy the supplies from the source. In John 15:5, Christ points out that He is the True Vine and we are the branches. “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
How vivid is this practical example. A branch will be fresh as long us it is connected to the tree so that it obtains its supplies required for its survival. Christ calls us to abide in Him and He in us and as a result we can bear fruits. “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
Ellen white tells us ,”Abiding in Christ means a constant receiving of His Spirit, a life of unreserved surrender to His service. The channel of communication must be open continually between man and his God. As the vine branch constantly draws the sap from the living vine, so are we to cling to Jesus, and receive from Him by faith the strength and perfection of His own character”. Desire of Ages,p.676
Brethren lets us seek to be connected always with our loving Saviour, Jesus Christ. Let us join the psalmist as he says in Psalms 16:8,I have set the LORD always before me:Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
All that has been said above can be shortly stated as:
Our growth in grace, our joy, our usefulness—all depend upon our union with Christ. It is by communion with Him, daily, hourly—by abiding in Him—that we are to grow in grace. He is not only the Author, but the Finisher of our faith. It is Christ first and last and always. He is to be with us, not only at the beginning and the end of our course, but at every step of the way.Steps to Christ,p.69.
