Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalms 133:1.
One of the earliest signs of psychiatric problems is withdrawal from society. Development of antisocial behaviour. No body does enjoy loneliness in a natural condition. To do that one should be in an unnatural state.
I don't just talk about fellowship, i talk about Christian fellowship. The psalmist says, "Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;" Psalm 1:1. So it's not any fellowship, it must be fellowship with godly men. Paul adds, "Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”" 1 Corinthians 15:33.
The effect of the type of people one associates with on the character is very noticeable. There is an old saying "show me your friends and I will tell who you are."
In order to be friends you must have same interests, so it is in marriage. But today I will not talk about marriage. I just deal with normal friends at campus.
Your friends must change you, either positively or negatively, it is hard to remain unaffected.
This is especially important for my young brothers and sisters who have newly joined the university community. There is freedom in this place. No body will force you to do this or that. We believe that you are matured and you can do things which you ought to do on your own without supervision.
Some were being forced to go to church. They were not willing, but they did just to please their parents. But it's quite different here. No body will compel you to come for evening devotions or morning prayers.
But let me tell you something; there is joy in fellowship with fellow Christians.
TUCASA is a very nice community. We worship, we talk, we laugh, we mourn (if it bids). In short, TUCASA is an organization which you need for your wellbeing at this university. Yes your wellbeing, spiritually, socially and sometimes economically.
At times you will feel the argue to go to your relatives on weekends. It's a good thing to visit your relatives, but it is a reasonable thing to join your fellow Christians in the evening services. Some will fear to show up for no reason, to these I can say, stop being foolish. Show up, unleash your talents, show us what the LORD has blessed you with. If you are a singer join the choir, if you can preach go and preach whenever you are needed.
Welcome all to this beautiful family ๐๐๐.
